What is an Ag Marketing Strategy Group? 

 It's a group of top ag producers who are interested in improving their marketing and management skills through a commitment to a year of small group meetings with a professional marketing analyst. We meet monthly, in most cases excluding October and May. Exact arrangements are determined by each group at the first meeting, but the base concept is a 2-hour monthly meeting. The meeting will include an outlook and strategy planning session, an educational session on some aspect of farm marketing, and plenty of group interaction.

 Who is the group leader? Alan Brugler, President of Brugler Marketing & Management LLC in Omaha. Alan was the editor and Director of Research for the DTN AgDaily marketing news service from 1992 to 2002. He is the owner of Brugler Marketing & Management LLC, a registered Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA), and an instructor for the Master Marketer programs in Texas, Ohio & Minnesota, as well as the International Grains Program at Kansas State University. He is also a frequent guest on Market to Market and US Farm Report.

 What might I gain by joining the Ag Marketing Strategy Group?

1) Learn important technical analysis and fundamental analysis skills from a nationally known market analyst, in person, and in manageable bites.

What is expected of Members?

1) Attend all meetings, to ensure that everyone is "on the same page" in terms of market knowledge, and also so that you can 2) share your hard earned insights with the group members.  There are no credits for missed meetings and the membership fee is paid in advance in order to encourage every effort to attend.

 How much does this cost?

The introductory meeting is usually $45-50. The annual fee for becoming a Member of an Ag Marketing Strategy Group is typically $450-500, depending on local meeting costs. This fee is payable prior to the second meeting. The introductory meeting registration will be credited toward the annual fee for those becoming Members. Rules on guests, partners, etc. will be covered at the introductory meeting.

Using WebEx, the AMSG meetings are no longer limited by geography or meeting time. You may join the National AMSG for a year and receive a Master Coupon Code that entitles you to attend all NAMSG meetings for the year via the Internet.  You may attend in "real time" or view an audio/video replay of the meeting for several weeks after broadcast. Live attendees may ask questions via text, microphone or whiteboard, while delayed broadcast participants will view and listen.
